Whistle For The Choir - The Fratellis

Another song found on Pandora......if you don't have pandora go downlaod it. I love this song.
It's adorable; a guy asking a girl to put social order aside and just be with him. And he can't help it. And it has such a great melody and terrific guitar instrutmentals. It is the only song I know by the Fratellis, but i'll probably go buy about two albums because this song shows that they can totally write some kick ass songs.
Go listen to it

Make You Feel My Love

I haven't listened to anything else by Adele, but the song Make You Feel My Love came up on my She & Him pandora a few weeks ago. I have this notebook where I write down songs that I like that I hear on Pandora or on the radio. Then, when I have a bunch of songs I go and put them all on my iPod and it's like rediscovering a whole new world. Well I drew a heart next to Make You Feel My Love but of course I didn't remember why until I listened to it again.
Adele's voice is deep and rich. It's not like she bsing this, she feels it and you can tell through how she sings. Plus the lyrics are ineffable. If I had to pick a song that described how I feel, it'd be this one. I know I'm young, but that doesn't make my feelings any less real. This song is just so pretty,

"When the wind is blowing in your face, and the whole world is on your case. I could offer you a warm embrace to make you feel my love."

Taylor Swift

So you know how everyone has The Weepies days? And that that can come in twofold, because they write really kick ass happy music as well as kick ass sad music?
So does Taylor Swift.
I'm sorry if all of my bands were ultra-hipster....up till now. I'm sorry to all those people who can't like something because its popular, but I adore Taylor Swift.
I was at camp when I was twelve years old (I think, maybe thirteen)
And I heard this little girl (little.....like eleven) singing Our Song. I thought it was beautiful. The lyrics were so adorable, it honsetly made me smile. The little girl wasn't even that good at singing but I came home from camp and bought all of Taylor Swift's first album (her only one at that point) without evevn hearing Taylor Swift sing.
Well, I was so right. Because that is one heck of an album. Picture To Burn to Stay Beautiful, it's all gorgeous.
If I was a guy.... I'd be down right scared to be involved. But then again she's like a stunnah and beautiful.
Then her second album came out and I bought it in the mall with my best friend, Chelsea.
That album got me through a lot. My first boyfriend, the happiness and how I would just sing Fearless over and over. Then him breaking up with me. I sat it the shower and sang White Horse until I felt some what better. As pathetic as that sounds, it's what I did.
And then the third album came right after the guy proved himself to be better than he could even know. It's amazing, I swear she writes about my life.
I love Long Live. I don't even know what it's entirely about but I love the line "how the kingdom lights shine just for me and you."
Of course she hits hard with some bad ass stuff like Better Than Revenge. Major props.
And I really just could listen to her for hours on end. No to mention her chords are pretty simple so an average guitar player like me can hit up all of her songs.
Gotta love it.
Advice.....if you're feeling like no one understands, Taylor Swift does. And she's written a song about it.

The Weepies

Today was a The Weepies day. Everyone has those days. Where nothing goes right at all. You're on your period, your boyfriend upsets you, you over react and try to apologize because you know you kinda acted insane, you run into everything, and I have a tendacy to start to spill things.
It's beautiful.
But not really.
What helps?
A band.
What band?
The Weepies.
Granted, their name does not limit them to only sad music. We have, for example, I was Made For Sunny Days.
But on days like these, I hit up the classics (no links, sorry.) Love doesn't last too long, The World Spins Madly On, Gotta Have You, Somebody Loved, How Do You Get High, Hard To Please.
Good life lesson, The World DOES spin on. No matter what.

She & Him

My favorite band right now is She & Him. It's the first band I found by myself and I just adore them. The two members (minus background singers I think) are Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward. The first song I heard from them was I was Made For You. One of my brother's favorites is In The Sun.
I don't really know what some of their songs are about, but I know they always make me happy.
If You Can't Sleep is so gorgeous; the harmonies just warm a heart, ya know? Unfortunately it's super different background music so even though I keep trying it never sounds right when I play it on the guitar or ukulele. I should probably try the piano.
The majority of this blog is probably gonna be about music. Cause guess who loves music? Me. And mostly all types.
